From the reviews, it seems like they're the exact same card. Can anyone tell me how much better the x1800XT is than the x850XT?

They are not even close to being the same card. The X1800XT is a newer generation, newer more advanced feature set, and alot more powerful.

The X1800XT is much faster and has newer technology. It's not even a comparison, the X1800XT is much better.

What reviews??? Newegg "reviews" are considered "comments"

X850XT trades blows with a 7600GT depending on the game.

An X1800XT trades blows with a 7900GT depending on the game although it has been noted the the 7900GT is a great overclocker.

Though at 90$ that X850XT is an awesome deal, the X1800XT is clearly an even more powerful card, and it supports SM 3.0.

See this benchmark in Oblivion for a comparison:

The X850XT is not listed in the HDR-enabled tests because it can't run it. This is what Sm3.0 support is for.

I figured there was a huge difference cause of the numbers, but I just wanted to make sure.
