Ok I have an Nvidia 7600 GT and I have a TV that I would very much like to hook it up with. The problem is it is a regular CRT but it does have component video inputs. My graphics card came with an s-video/component video dongle that appears to allow this to happen.
I went to Best Buy to get a cable and I was blown away by the prices of Monster cables. So I figured I would do a little research and also ask you folks if its worth spending the extra money on these cables? It seems there is a spectrum of component cable prices but I wanted to know if you guys think its worth spending top dollar for Monster?
Also, does it matter much whether I connect directly to the TV or go to through the receiver? Thanks a lot.
Thanks for the info. I did notice the dramtic price increase for an extra 2 feet. I will probably need 8 feet but I might relocate the tower to shorten the length and save money. So aside from Monster, what are other good mid-range names I should look for? Newegg also offers Belkin, RCA, and Startech. I definitely wnat a high quality cable that was made with tight tolerances to achieve close 75 ohm impedence. Thanks for your help.
honestly, any cable with the component connectors on both sides will work, color coordination just makes it easier for most consumers, a cheap set of av cables will even work
