b. 3700 , 2gb, and a x1800xt

c. 3200, 1gb, and a x1900xt

I'm not sure I understand the issue. You have a limited scope, and have a general idea of what you want, so just go for the options that you can afford.

I would probably go for 2G of ram since you like BF2, so use that as a spring board to the rest of the system budget.

i guess what i was tring to ask was that if the a x1900xt with 1gb would be better than an x1800xt with 2gb in the games i play

well IMO 3800 single or dual core is the way to go becuase you can get it in AM2 socket which will let you upgrade in the future w/o a new Mobo.

Also a 1800XT will be good for a while, and 1gig is not going to kill you although I would plan on upgrading it to 2gig in the near future

of what you listed in what you are looking at
the 3200, 3700 or x2 3800 not a lot of diff in todays games
the 1 gig or 2 gig is the big diff and the video cards too
on the cpu part the 3700 is the best but the x2 is more future proof

Yes that was a bit confusing but not matter, I would still go for option B. Beside, 3700 is rather cheap of late and you get a pretty decent bang for the buck even if it's not the newest technology.

damn i just realized, what option b is. i was thinking of 2 gigs for gt09
for sure 2 gigs make the biggest dif of all more than say an overclock
or a better cpu.

and i agree the 3700<i have one> or the x23800
or hell even the 3200<i have one at work>
my brother has a 3500 clawhammer 939 at 2.2 stock its older
and a friend has an x24800. not much diff

any should work fine

he never specified he was getting am2
He posted 3 options
option B is the best from my point of view.
He never asked for any ideas on something better than the 3 specified.
There is no "D" opinon

Option money: Take the money you have, buy some Energy drink stock, see double digit returns. Take hard-earned money, buy weapons, and sell them in illegal arms trade, see triple digit returns... Then get some WMD (Weapon of Mass Destructions), sell them for four digit returns, and be happy for life.

With all the new money, buy a computer better than Tom's 10,000 dollar computer.

Otherwise, go with option B. Graphics card is the most important thing for games. Might not be too future proof, but it should last another year or two at least.
