Hi there. I'm building a complete new system. I will be using the computer for gaming, multitasking, and more. Gaming is not my top priority but I would like good experience with it. NCIX.com has pricematch so the supplier doesn't really matter. I live in Canada so Newegg isn't available to me. I've put up a list of components (LCD included). Please I need suggestions/advice/help thanks. I'm not buying right now but I will buy soon, preferably at the end of August. So I just need some information before-hand, before I actually purchase the parts. My budget is #1300-$1400 CAD. A little bit over is fine but not too much. Most of the prices are from NCIX's weekly special. NCIX's weekly specials will always have similar or lower prices for the items. I will be overclocking my CPU but not video card.

That is the list. I have a few questions regarding this build:
1. Will the Thermaltake Big Typhon fit into Antec Sonata II case?
2. I will be ocing e6300 to 2.8GHz hopefully. Are there any BIOS issues with the motherboard?
3. Is the PSU enough for a future DX10 card upgrade?

You may as well wait and see what the video card requierments are going to be when DX10 come out. But as far as i can tell if you want to be ready you might want to get a 1kW PSU. I would just wait and see. If a PSU upgrade is needed make it then. everything else you have looks good.

i seriously doubt he will ever need a 1kw psu.

I'm getting an Enermax 620w liberty modular off ncix. Its stable and tough, should be great for a long time.

EDIT: If you need the comp now, get what you want now, don't wait for DX10. If you can wait and won't mind do that. If you can't wait, but want to get DX10 when it comes out, get a cheaper card now, then replace it after DX10 comes out. If you care, the x1950's are coming out soon so you might want to wait for that.

Thanks for the input guys. I will not wait for the sole sake of DX10. The X800 XL is a great card for its money. It is old technology though but the only thing I care is p/p ratio.

Can someone help me with the other two questions and the monitor selection? I'm really looking at low response time 19" ones. Widescreen doesn't matter. Thanks.

You could get a 19" crt like me if you want cheap performance. 8) However if you don't have the space i do't know much about LCD's

Yeah, if you plan on running a dual socket AM2 system with quad G80s.
