So i can get the 7900 GT (512Mb) for the same price as the 7900 GTX, but i have to know something abt it's fan.

I heard it was quite, thats a good thing.. but will it let me OC or is the VF900 better?

Get the 7900GTX... even if the price is the same, that extra memory won't be as useful as the raw power of the 7900GTX.

As for OCing, if you search for reviews from sites or even user reviews from Newegg, they'll usually let you know what people have been able to accomplish. But that doesn't mean you'll be able to replicate their specs as luck plays a lot in OCing.

Well i heard that the VF900 is like the BEST cooler ever, except that it only has RAM heatsinks and not a fan.

Is it really better then the GTX stock cooler?

I'm sorry, I mean Quiet.

But dosen the stock cooler on the GTX perform better on the RAM since its a fan and not just a fre heatsinks like on the VF900?
Oh man, i dont want to spend another 50$. Might as well buy the 7900 GT, cept i dont know how to Volt Mod.

i believe the stock GTX fan doesnt even touch the RAM, i have a VF-900 very good very quiet.

the GTX is better than the GT 512mb. get the GTX over the GT + VF-900.

I would prefer the beefy dual-slot fan over that mini fan which hardly looks big enough. GTX FTW!

I own 2 MSI 7900GTXs, and the stock fans themselves are dead silent. I put my ear to them, still cant hear the fans(their spinning though lol) 7900GT is still good though. I dont think you would really need that cooler, unless you were going to overclock it.

Don't get a 7900GT if you can afford a 7900GTX; to hit 650MHz on a 7900GT you'll need a volt mod and you'll end up voiding your warranty.

Truthfully I think an X1900XT would be a better solution for you; it's cheaper and just as fast as a 7900GTX, while having other nice features such as OpenEXR FP16 HDR support with antialiasing, or their non angle dependent high quality anisotropic filtering.

No, i found the 7900 GTX for 600$, same price as the X1900XT where i live.

I can Overclock the 7900 GT to 650-700Mhz without Volt Modding. And its 100$ cheaper.
Btw, is Volt modding difficult? Does it require soldering?

I have an FX5200, i have no idea what AF and AA look like in games, so i dont care wich company does them better. And i still cant get over being a fan-boy for Nvidia.

I believe eVGA's cards are already volt-modded? I can't back this up, but I've picked it up, somewhere. The Superclocked series can get hit the GTX speeds and sometimes beyond! The Superclocked card actually is just barely slower than the X1900XT..

Yeh, but it's price is really close to the GTX, so its not worth it.
Plus, i think that volt-modding isnt that hard, i just dont know where to get that pen, or any of that equipment for that matter.

Will i need to Volt-Mod my GTX if i want 800Mhz?
Can/Should u Volt-Mod an X1900XT?

I think you would need some serious water cooling to hit 800Mhz on the core GT or GTX...But I guess you would, though, have to volt-mod.

Not sure on the X1900XT..
