So I just built a HTPC with a X2 3800+ AM2 65W. I wanted something that would cool better then the stock Aluminum cooler. I bought a Thermaltake Silent Boost RX K8 after reading good reviews but it doesn't fit in my Ultra Microfly microATX case. I'm not really planning on OC'ing so I was thinking mabye the Thermaltake Silent 939 K8. Do you have any other suggestions, thanks.

I was going to get arctic silver 5 but Fry's was out. Instead I got Antec Formula 5 which spec. wise is the same. Im using currently on my stock cooler though as it is only temporarly being used.

One other question, how do I get the remaining thermal pad off of the stock cooler and CPU (I don't think rubbing alcohol works). Thanks

You'll need the purest alcohol you can find, as some types can leave residues behind, which apparently affect heat transfer. I've never had his affect any of my attempts, so feel free to try.

I do have a bottle of lab ethanol, which works wonders, being around 99.5% pure. but its pretty much impossible to get it now, and I belive its technically illegal outside of a lab, at least here in the UK.

I would get the Arctic Silver tbh, I use Antecs stuff, and its not as good as Artics. Gotta get me some more of that stuff soon...
