In my profile directory I have Ntuser.bak, NTuser.bk1, and Ntuser. What's
the purpose of this?

Hi,

The last one is actually Ntuser.dat, and this is specific to your profile
(holds user data). The others are corrupted versions of that file that have
been replaced. You can probably safely delete Ntuser.bak and Ntuser.bk1. You
do not see the file extension on the last one because of your view settings
(folder options/view, in advanced uncheck "hide file extensions for known
file types".
