Since Toms has German site to i would think europeans could get into the contest aswell.......


Since Toms is a international thing......it even surprises me more that it is US only......

I dont know percentages......but........isn't Toms overlooking a large group of faithfull readers. I know ive been since the beginning.........


I feel betrayed.........Tom!!...may I remind you where you started out!!!!


There are other things for me to be happy about.......not being able to join the contest is not going to change my live....it is not that big of a deal.....

But since the roots of pabsto lies in europe i am disappointed.........which will be forgotten as soon as I have closed the door behind me. But will leave a bitter taste......visiting toms....

Because it seems to effect people personally......whomes opinions I DO need to respect.....

It always works 2 ways people.......if you say you respect peoples opinions...than you bound to respect any opinion whether you like it or not.......only that way you'll gain respect.....

If you dont respect other peoples opinions.........dont count on getting any respect back....

I'm sure THG have thought about that and due to other complications and what not it's not that easy to have a worldwide sweeptakes.

There is a german site........scratch that.....it is a german who started out in england..........

The fact he got big.....is thx to europeans wanting to read his sjit....and the fact he done a very good job writing articles in a way anyone could understand.......

So.......It is not a huge problem to make it world wide.......hell it could have even been split up in different builds regarding availability in different regions....


So unless the european gets a entry soon on the german site.......i cant help myself saying......FY to Tom

I do not know if you are aware of the large number of proud American Tom's readers and posters, but (I hope) some of us are offended by rude comments like, "Well .....guess my luck comes from .....not having to live in the US....phewww......thats worth a whole lot more..."
I am tired of ungreatful people like yourself who bore us with a fifth grade Micheal Moore view of the United States of America.
America may not have a perfect past and some people think that they are superior to America or other western countries, but it seems that they forget that thier own countries are also not flawless and end up becoming hypocrites in the process.

I was neutral regarding Europe, but with this complaining all over the forums, its really starting to tick me off... So what, your not able to get the computer. Too bad that Falcon NW is an American Company... and so is most of the computer part manufacters (If you say anything about Taiwan, I'll just say that they are America's Bi%tch)

I HAVE to jump in here......

First in regards to the Wikipedia comment...........

Wikipedia is NOT to be taken as ROCK SOLID information as it is EDITTED by many different people who may or may not have their facts straight. Therefore it is entirely possible that it could be WRONG. *gasps*

Second in regards to the US Government.........

In regards to the government and the citizens/residents, keep in mind that the United States and The United States of America are two ENTIRELY different things. The USA is the country; the United States represents the corporate entity that runs the country (the government). If any of you pay attention to the President's State of the Union address, the President is NEVER introduced as the "President of the USA". It is always the "President of the United States". Therefore based soley on that I can see how we as citizens or residents of this great country can be separated from the government in aristotelus' comments. I cannot defend or endorse the actions of the US government because I do not know all of the facts, therefore, IMO it is best to just keep my mouth shut on this forum as opposed to spreading IGNORANCE.

Lastly, aristotelus, just because your country was not included in the sweepstakes does not give you grounds to moan, complain and be just downright RUDE. If in fact the the founder of THG was german, couldn't you as a fellow countryman at least give him the benifit of the doubt that he took everything into consideration when setting up the sweepstakes? I am familiar with how sponsorships and sweepstakes work, and it is very possible that Falcon Northwest put a condition on the PC that it only be a USA based sweepstakes, which would be entirely out of THG's hands.

I live in and LOVE America. I personally believe that folks would be hard-pressed to find a better place to live. I am not saying that we are perfect, I am just saying that this Land is the best. IMO.

i'm not offended by your post. I come to expect much this sort of attitude from much of Europe, especially in the last decade.

However...this statement makes zero sense whatsoever. I'm chalking it up to a language issue, but what the hell does "knowing the concept of other countries" supposed to mean?

Do you honestly believe the US government doesn't understand that there are other countries in the world?

Perhaps we should stop sending out the half a trillion dollars in aid every year to the countries we don't know exist.

Tell you what...next time there is a Tsunami, you guys pay for the cleanup. While you're at it, you send billions in aid to Africa. And next time someone like the Soviets decide they want your country, you handle it by yourself...because we don't understand the concept of other countries here.
