I want to buy some memory in the next hour, and wanted to get your quick input!

The only difference I can see is the CAS latency of 5 vs 4 respectively. Please help with this decision! Thanks!

The only diffs I can see in the OCZ rev. 2 vs the original, is the tightened timing. You pay an extra $30 for that. Not sure if its really worth it. Sounds good in theory, but those sticks are basically identical.

Also, where did you get your P5WDH. I've been looking everywhere. THEY ARE OUT!

Thanks!

im "getting" my p5w dh from buy.com (least expensive), it has yet to ship though

i would still go with the rev 2 because they sticks have been removed of flaws and improved over the original platinum sticks (i think that is worth 30 bucks)

I guess - it's only $30, but still, I have been unable to find the exact differences between the two, except for the tighter timings.

Trying to save every buck I can here! I'll probably go with rev. 2

Thanks again.

It's a new E6600 build. I decided to go with the revision 2, I hope it was the right choice.

Getting away from the topic, I ran into a jam this AM by not being able to find my ASUS P5W DH DELUXE anywhere ??????

I'll have all my components in a few days, and no mobo to do the build !!!! Please can someone help me out. Where can I get one??

Around $250 is my price point.

THANKS!

Wait wait... I hear there are memory issues with OCZ memory and Asus boards, you might want to check with Asus to see if they will support OCZ memory just fine. If it comes down to it, I'd pick OCZ. But Corsair and OCZ are pretty much damn identical. Since OCZ has the rebate going on, then I would grab them. But if they were the same price, Corsair would barely edge by.

He needs DDR2 ram, not DDR. Other than that, he should look for at least CAS 4 latency. CAS 3 would be better, but pricy. The OCZ Revision 2 is worth the extra bucks. No sense in buying the other ram and finding out it doesn't work.

I cant believe people are getting suckered into buying $250 mobo's by Intel. Intel released Conroe with no other chipsets available other than their own. Then charge an arm and a leg for them. Thats dirty.

Hey, that's one way of making up for the otherwise cheap price of the cpu's. Get people all excited on the low price cpu, then blast them on the mobo. Too many people forget about the total price of the setup, seeing only a cheap cpu price. Intel has to make its money some way.

I just purchased the ASUS P5W DH Deluxe from Newegg tonight. As of now, it is still in stock ($269.99) - Link

I was looking to get the XMS2 Corsair DDR2-800 PC6400 4-4-4-12 RAM (seen here), but today I notice that it is out of stock on Newegg. :\

Below I've included a screenshot of the ASUS P5W DH Deluxe's QVL for DDR2-800 RAM. It lists OCZ in the chart, but could someone give me another opinion on interpreting the chart, namely whether the OCZ RAM (seen here) would work properly.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the Rev. 2 which you have listed will work.

I googled the product # from the chart and it came up as the Platinum Edition, but it seems as though the Rev. 2 would be the better purchase.
