get the x1900gt if you can or even the x1900xt..that is i you want ati graphics...reviews say theyre good and the 1900gt even beats the nvidia 7900gt! and the 1900gt costs around £50 less!
If you want nvidia then go for the 7900gt and REMEMBER TO GET THE VIVO function on it.
ATI cardsare sometmes better because they can do HDR and antialsing? at the same time, nvidia cards cannot

ati 1900gt

around £200-£300

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Pro [...] tID=335772
ranges from £200- 250

id get the 1900gt over sli 6800gts or any other card atm if you have the money.

I would go with the ati x1900. I don't know from experience, but other reviews and posts I've read says that your probably better off with a great single card than 2 mid-ranged cards. I'm sure there are some performance reviews coving this topic.

Why are you posting in the CPU forum?

X1900 series - no question. 6800 is old old technology for today's games.

A single X1900GT or X1900XT are much better than 2 6800s in SLI.

See for yourself: http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.aspx?i=2746&p=4

6800GS SLI: 10-14.7 fps
X1900XT: 27-31.5 fps

That's a no-brainer.

May as well add my vote; X1900 XT, or better yet, X1900 XTX.

I would go with the x1900xt. It's faster than 2 6800's and you get more features. If you look at benchmarks from the 6800 series you'll see that the architecture doesn't usually permit the performance for resolutions at 1600x1200 or higher even with sli. And if you wanted could get a crossfire card down the road.
