This is the message that I get in my System Event Viewer:

Registration of the DNS record '_kpasswd._udp.myserver.co.uk. 600 IN SRV 0
100 464 officeserver.myserver.co.uk.' failed with the following error:
DNS operation refused.

My network is setup with an extrenal firewall (Smoothwall) This server is
the PDC on my network.

I have checked that the DNS server allows Dynamic Updates and it does
(Secure Only - Do I need to change this?)

This is what I get when i do ipconfig /all:

Windows 2000 IP Configuration

The error is cause by the use of your router's address for DNS.
You will need to remove the routers IP from TCP/IP properties for DNS, you
can only use the router's address as a forwarder on the forwarders tab on
DNS server 192.168.254.9.

Kevin ur a Pro!!

Only problem i now get is 5781:

Dynamic registration or deregistration of one or more DNS records failed
because no DNS servers are available.

I have read that this referes to a single label domain name. But my domain
name isn't a single one (i think)

Any ideas on this?

Thanks

VJ

Try netdiag /fix
If you still have problems post:
updated ipconfig /all
Domain name from AD Users & Computers
List of zones relevant in DNS.
