Having a dilemma overclocking my 3800+. I cannot seem to get past 230mhz HTT no matter what I try. There was a post in the asus forum where one guy mentioned that the A8V Deluxe cannot go past 233mhz HTT. However, my mobo is non-Deluxe.

Now i do not have another motherboard to try and test if it's the motherboard's limitations or if it's really my chip. So i'm wondering if there's anyone out there who knows of this motherboard's limitations or faced something similar.

I'm planning to get a DFI mobo, but then have to wait till i a DX10 videocard is released and have enough funds.

Here's my setup:
Asus A8V bios 0219
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Toledo Core
ATi All in Wonder Radeon x800xl AGP
A pair of generic 512MB ram
SB Live! Value
250GB WD PATA HDD

i'm looking for at least 2.4ghz which seems like an easy achievement overall. Anything higher i'll be happy, anything less i wouldn't be too satisfied

unfortunately i cannot get multiplier of 11, since this chip is locked at 10 or under. I believe it is my motherboard that is the limiting factor. However, i cannot prove it by any means :(

Doesn't seem like there's people out there using A8V non deluxe paired with an X2 proccessor.

Hi!
I have asus A8V-E SE + x2 3800 toledo.
I got easily 2,4GHz by setting the HTT multiplier to 4x, memory div. to 5/6 (166MHz) and fsb to 266. Cpu multiplier is 9. Vcore is default 1,35v.
I had to adjust memory settings from 2-3-2-6 1T to 2,5-3-3-7 1T.
I´m planning to rise the multiplier to 9,5 or 10 and see what happens

Hope you get your mobo working!
