And yet they can't even update their phones. I know the Incredible wasn't so Incredible when it came to updates and will be the last HTC phone I buy.

I've never understood why people complain about not getting a Android update, I root every Android phone I have and keep them all up to date. Also, if you are in the states I recommend you blame your phone carrier, not the manufacturer.


OT: I believe HTC made a lot of money because they decided to go the SIM based route for their Butterfly(Verizon's DNA). I have T-Mobile as my carrier and I bought a Droid DNA from Verizon and so far haven't regretted anything! Amazing phone, amazing features and so much possibilities for future custom ROMs! Also scoring a 8,300 on Quadrant ;D

Keep up the good work HTC! Been using a HTC HD2 for years now, finally decided to settle down on a new phone

I've owne a Motorolla Droid and now have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Am seriously considering buying something that takes great pictures. If the Nexus 4 can take better pictures than Galaxy Nexus I'm sold. If the difference is minimal then I'll see what HTC's 13 Megapixel beast can do.

My Galaxy Nexus already takes better photos than my HP 2MP camera.
Why own a camera if you can gets a phone that can do the job adequately?

Good good, we need HTC in the market! I will stick with them as I have enjoyed my XDA Exec, TYnT2, Touch Pro 2 and Sensation, and my Wife loved her HD2 which is now running Jellybean being used by my daughter and her new One S is a fantastic bit of kit.

Some lay people can't be bothered rooting (he he). There updates to sense is crap though. however nowadays I would say yes, just vanilla that sucker and update yourself.

Anyway HTC Australia put me through the ringer on a warranty issue. Costing themselves $1100 according to the warranty slips. 3 different motherboards installed when all they had to do was replace the phone.In total I went 3.5 months without my smart phone. It is my first smart phone and when I got it I was an annoying HTC fan boy, proclaiming they were gold to the world. I don't REALLY want them to sink ONLY because I think of so many people's lives and their families would be up rooted due to job loss. However they suck bum bum and will NEVER get my money again.

1. Rooting voids warranty, hence why some people complain.
2. Rooting, the overhead of learning, applying all the changes takes time, no reason I shouldn't get an update, make a few taps, walk away come back and its done. I should not have to waste my time to do something that should be provided
3. Companies like Apple and Microsoft help push updates to their devices, they try to cut the B.S. from the carriers.

All the reasons above + more is why I go with an iPhone for the time being. I rather spend my time learning new skills for my profession not waste time hacking my device to get updates that another device makes it seamless

Finally upgraded from my prehistoric clam phone last month to an HTC EVO V with virgin mobile. Cost me $150 on amazon. And by the looks of things this phone and the htc one v were the most notable phones on sale at many stores those days, other than the s3 with contract. i enjoy this phone and am glad htc has stopped its downward spiral momentarily. by what Ive read and my experience with this phoen they make some great quality stuff and make competitive products. hope they take up that 3rd place from sony in the market.

1. Rooting only voids warranty if you return the phone back to the company while it's rooted, if you unroot the phone, then the warranty isn't voided.
2. Rooting is as easy as following 10 steps, Hell some phones take even less steps to root. If you want something simple, then don't get Android if you don't want to wait for updates.
3. Apple has overpriced garbage and Windows is a joke when it comes to phones, sorry but this isn't a valid argument for your side.

Rooting a Android phone is beyond easy, it's easier to use a Android phone and most of all it has the most options, but if you want to keep telling yourself lies and stay with Apple, then by all means stay with Apple, hope you like your 5s in a couple months, yeah let Apple continue to spit in your face, not my money.
