Though GSM - you can't unless you actually create a modem connection
and dial into another computer that has an incoming modem.
You want to create a GPRS connection, which the XDA II supports. That
operates over GSM. you will need to know the APN of your service
provider and possibly a password, userID and other settings.
T-Mobile in the US is pretty easy. The APN is
internet2.voicestream.com and you don't need any UID/Password. On the
XDA II, you'll select GPRS in a new connection as the connection
method. Put the APN in the server name.
Cingular in the US is a bit more difficult - you do need a user id and
password. Google for settings if that is your carrier.
In ALL cases, your account has to allow GPRS. If it doesn't or you
don't know, call your carrier to activate it and ask about monthly
charges, charges per kb, etc.
