More Information

My rig has a P551 precott 3.4ghz, and I recently got the v1.3 point release for quake 4.

My question is regarding a feature which according to the release notes enables "Hyperthreading support and Dual-Core support" to the game.

However, the option which enables this feature after the installation only says "Support for dual-core processors" Enabled/Disabled.

It is set to disabled by default. Does quake automatically detect the hyperthreading, or do I/can I enable this without endangering my machine to see if it gives me a boost?
