Tired of my friends using my brand new computer(cost 3400 with monitor) Im thinking along the lines of building a cheap Computer that they can use when they come over. Nothing fancy, just within that price range. If i can get CS Source, COD2, and like Bf2 on medium graphics, that would be fine. What i dont need is the following:Monitor(16'CRT Viewsonic) Mouse, Keyboard, speakers(plan to find some cheap ones) Your suggestions are greatly appreciated. Im really not caring if its amd or intel, single or dual core, as long as it works, and runs games decently. One question on Windows OEM products, what comes with them? And what doesnt come with them? Thanks, really appreciate it.

check out my posting here: $730 best buidl. That should be able to handle everything your wanting. Also, on the OEM stuff you get an OS disc and a cd key on the back of the little disc protector that's it. No manual or anything, but that's really all you need anyway since it is a full windows version.

This isn't necessarily what I recommend, personally I would get a name brand PSU. I'm just showing you what parts can be had with 700 bucks :)

I didn't even think of that, that's a good idea!

I always love my SFF systems. They are a blast to mod/work on. They can be a pain in the ass to install (depending on how it's made).

EDIT: I didn't realize you DID not a hard drive, so my above post might not work out very well ;)

Thats a awesome setup for the price im looking for. I guess no one mentioned that i needed windows? Maybe ill just downsize on some things. Considering that case though. How reliable are the shuttle PSUs? Never used one before.

I don't believe that's a shuttle, but I can vouch for shuttle SFF. They are great, I had a Barton 2500+ @ 3200+ in one of those and ran surprisngly cool. The only drawback was the power supply.. .it didn't have enough connectors for the card that I really wanted... :( but other than that is was a cool little box, attracted quite a bit of attention at LAN parties.

Cool. Well, I'm trying to save as much money as possible on this setup. Maybe ill downsize on the video card to a x1800xt, and maybe get a Coolermaster Centurion 5. Everything else i will keep though. Its all compatible right? Also, need help on a PSU.

I may get evil glares for this, but if you're looking for bang for buck you may want to consider a case+powers supply combo.

I have only ordered a handful of cases that come with them (the actual case I originally listed) and have not had a problem with the power supply that comes with it. *shrugs* something you may want to think about as well, I'm sure 99% of the people here will say don't skimp out on it.

What about the Antec Sonata II package? Comes with Antec case, and 450w SmartPower Powersupply?

I think it seems like a decent deal if you want both together. You can get cheaper for sure, but you may either be skimping somewhere or a company is trying to jip you, know what I mean?
