I have for years used Adobe Audition 1.5 and 3.0 to extract files from CD for my syndicated radio shows. In February I bought a Lenovo lap top loaded with windows 7, and cannot do this task with 1.5 or 3.0
Help - I'm ready to go back to XP or find a program that will allow me to extract audio for my professional use.
Any suggestions?

On windows 7 Audition it reads the file as PCM raw data. Hence its does not extract the dat files. Try using freeware CD Rippers. You will be able to "rip" the cd to the desired audio file format and use it for your radio shows.

I want to keep everything in one program like I have up to this point, rather than switch from program to program to get the jon done that Adobe 1.5 and 3.0 have done perfectly for me using Windows XP.
Anything else I can try? appreciate your help.
