Hi Everyone

We have 2 external DNS on the DMZ. they are both Windows 2000 Server running
DNS. it was working find until recently we have experience long delay.
especially browsing internet.

So I check on the DNSreport and there was an error saying

[ERROR: I was unable to get an answer from the parent servers [127.0.0.1],
when I tried to find the NS records for someone.someone.co.nz

or

NS FAIL NS A timeout occurred getting the NS records from your nameservers!
None of your nameservers responded fast enough. They are probably down or
unreachable. I can't continue since your nameservers aren't responding. .

and sometimes I can get the full query from DNS report of our DNS fine.

I dial our different ISP. I can perform a nslookup on our domain and both of
the DNS server is running fine. mail is coming through. no worries.

I also used ip-plus.com to do lookup on our domain and dns server. it said
our server is running fine.

I am not sure what is going on here. if anyone can guide me this beginner
will be much appreciated.

Thank you

Maybe DNSReport had a lag?

Also, if something is coming back with a 127.0.0.1 address, then there seems
to be an incorrect record on your DNS for the SOA of the zone. Is this
holding a secondary zone? Does it only hold public records or are there
mixed private and public IPs?

Check the nameservers tab. Is there a record with the loopback specified?

Can you post the domain name so we can see the report and give you some
feedback?
