I recently saw and then lost an ad for a video capture device that would alllow direct capture to a USB HD/Flash Drive.

The Device was advertized as a standalone video capture/converter device that woudl either hook directly up to a HD/Flash Drive via USB or work as a more standard video capture device with on the fly MPEG (?#?) conversion.

Since I will be wanting to do live recording from a vehicle mounted camera, and I don't want to have to use my laptop (vibration is a nasty thing onthe road...) I would love to find this device again. Does anyone else remember seeing this Video Capture device? What is it's name?

I think that I finally found what I was looking for, although it is a bit pricier than I was thinking it was. Turns out I was remembering an add for the Archos AV 500 (see this link if you're interested: http://www.archos.com/products/tv_ [...] l&lang=en)

A nifty little toy.
