Right now, the hype is Conroe. If your budget is really high then . . .:

CPU: X6800 Core 2 Duo Extreme

Motherboard: Asus P5W DH Deluxe

Video Card: Nvidia 7950GX2 (Basically what your getting in one card)

Physics Card: Really a waste of money but if you insist.

Case: Try the Thermaltake Armor series or a Lian-Li case

Creative X-FI Fatal1ty FPS Sound Card - good choice

Logitech G15 Keyboard - nice keyboard

Logitech Z550 5.1 Speaker system - will be good for gaming

DVD Writer - Just get the best Plextor IDE DVD writer they do. The SATA one sucks!

AMD FX-62 (or Intel Core2 Extreme?) - Get the Core2 DEFINITELY

Intel Core2 capable MB - P5W-DH

Nvidia Geforce 7900GTX *2(SLI) - Good choice, but you'll need an SLI motherboard. If its the P5W-DH ftw, then get the 7950GX2 instead.

Asus/BFG Physx Card - seriously, FUCK THAT. you gotta be a noob to buy a PPU right now...

Corsair DDR2 1066 XMS2 8500-C5 - good choice

Western Digital Raptor X 150GB*4 (4HD Raid 0) - I wouldn't bother with RAID with the Raptor to be honest, I'd just have it singly as an OS/install drive and spend the money on a 500GB Seagate 7200.10 for storage, particularly if you are going to be recording the satellite input at high quality and want to archive your shows.

PC Cooling & Power TurboCool 850 SSI - If you can afford it...why not?

Know any floppy drive with memory card reader? - Anything will do, get one that matches your case

Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP LCD - nice screen

Logitech G7/G5 Mouse - I have a G7 they own

Professional/Gaming Aluminium Case with Transperant side window - I'd rather forgo the transparent side and get a P180 - I like quiet

Watercooling kit - no idea - but your case decision may change if you go this route. Lian-Li 2100 apparently accommodates water-cooling well.

External Capture Card to capture signal from DTH Sattelite Decoder - read some reviews

Intel x6800. Thats your best bet, kills the AMD in performance. Graphics card: DirectX 10 video cards will hopefully show up end of this year, so getting 2 high priced cards at this point, isnt worth it. Just get 1 7900GT or 7900GTX. Doing this, dump the SLi board. Asus P5B is a good Core2Duo compatible board. You can get watercooling parts from either www.frozencpu.com or www.dangerden.com Harddrives: You really dont need the 4 150GB raptors, 1 or 2 is good for now, and get a 500GB one in raid, For backup. Everything else looks fine though. Dont buy everything just yet though, wait till more of the veteran guru's read your thread, they will probably give you more, and better advice than i did.

I thought of getting it this week or next week
I think I will try to get a Intel Core2 Extreme X6800
Any MB With 16X/16X SLI/Crossfire(I think 3200 Xpress for intel is not released)
WD Raptor 150GB*2(raid array)
500GB HD
Dropped the Physx Card
Will 4GBs improve performence over 2GB in gaming and multimedia
(2*Corsair DDR2 1066 XMS2 8500-C5)

SLi/Crossfire isnt worth it at this time and age. Dont get it, waste of cash. Get 1 card now. And use the rest to purchase a DX10 card and Vista at the end of this year.

The X6800 is by far the best. Forget SLi and Crossfire. Get the X1900XTX or the 7950 to hold you over to DX10. Forget watercooling on the Core2. It simply doesn't need it and there's no reason to overclock it unless you just want the challenge and you don't mind killing a $1200 chip... I chose the Intel MB because I wanted rock solid performance and with Vista and DX10 coming in the next 6 months and getting big in games in about 18 months, I will see what's out then and upgrade the MB and GPU together.

My Rig:
Core 2 Duo X6800 Conroe
Intel D975XBXLRK - 304
Thermaltake Big Typhoon HSF

74GB 10K Raptor HD
Soundblaster Audigy 2 SZ
NEC OEM DVD Burners (x2)
