Tektronix/Xerox Phaser 740 Color Imaging Kit Repair

Any hands-on types out there had the color imaging kit apart for the
740? I have one that needs repaired and my husband wants to know if he
has 2 bad ones can he put the good parts together and get 1 good one.
Obviously this is assuming he has all the good parts between the 2. He
is very good at fixing anything, including all our computers and
electronics.

Any advice or insight would be appreciated..
