I'm building a new computer for my church, the computer will mainly be used for Video Editing for the TV Programs and stuff.
We currently have an AMD Athlon64 3000, with 2GB of ram and 500gb hard drive, this pc will be kept for other purposes.
Now on a budget of $850 without adding the hard drives and monitor, what setup would you recommend ? Should I wait?
Im not really sure but do I need a good video card for video editing ? how good does it have to be?

thanks

i would get a dual core system, i think that core 2 duo is best but with your budget dont think you can afford it, i guess you could go for aathlon x2 4200+. for video editing i think -not sure on this though- a better processor is best rather than a better video card, but i dont do much video editing so i dont know your needs that well sorry so if im wrong dont listen to me.. lol

...i wonder can you fit a core 2 duo into your budget...

i think it includes everything im not sure about the case if it includes a psu or not though but still i think its a nice setup a nd its a little over budget but you can wait a while to save the $$ for it
its got:
core 2 duo e6300 yay! i fitted it into your budget :D

the gigabyte ds3, it overclocks really well, though i dont think your church will overclock the computer

a 1900gt!

1 gb of ddr2 3-3-3-9 timings!!!

everything well most stuff is cheaper in america ... i live in england you see

EDIT: the psu is only 380w you might need to get a better one so if you waited a little and then get a better one youll have an amazing setup. :D

C2D is probably overkill, could probably just save some money and go with a cheap 74 X2 3200 3500 3800 or a Pentium D, I'm sure your church wouldn't mind saving some money. C2D is sexy though, i must say @@

And you dont really need a video card at all for video editing.
