I'm looking to buy 2 80mm fans and 1 120mm fan. I went to the egg but I have no idea which ones are the best. The fans can glow if they want but the color has to be blue. :)

Thanks. :)

I want one of these but I need to paint it black and I'm scared I'm going to unbalance it but 70CFM on my side window to my GPU? LOLz take that overheating :D

actually does anyone have those fans used with their own fan controller? I can only get the white version here ( i think it only comes in white) and I want to use my zalman fan controller. It seems that i need to conect it directly to a 4pin molex for power and 2 pins for speed control?

As posted, noise level and air flow....

What I do is get a high air flow (therefore high noise level) fan then attach it to a fan controller. Turn it down when web surfing and crank it up while gaming.

Try these ones. They are 89 cfm but loud at 32 dba. Definitely want some sort of fan control for these.

Most fan controllers use a rheostat (basically a voltage regulator) to control the amount of power going to the fan. The yellow wire is purely a rpm sensor, nothing to do with fan control. If your zalman uses 3 pin then use the 3 pin on the fan as long it has red, black and yellow wire.

I guess I should mention that it would be even better if the fans connected right into the motherboard so I could monitor the speeds. :)

Also is there a converter to convert a molex plug to a 3 pin so it fits onto the mobo?

before you do that though, most fans with 4 pin molex are used for the fact that they require more power than the mobo can support, therefore you run the risk of burning out the headers on your mobo, which is very bad. You should read the print on the fans seeing how much amps they use, and see if your mobo will be able to support it. Just a word of warning.

If you want the best 80 mm fan, get Vantec Tornado. It's loud, but its the best. Otherwise, you can buy name brands, like TT, Vantec, Panaflow, Silverstone, etc...

My case came with 2 aspire 80mm fans that have a molex connector. The only think that sucks is I cant monitor the fan speed but they only take up 1 PS plug since there both equiped with a male and female connector. I may just get these 2 fans:

I'm getting the Thermaltake 120mm fan mentioned in this thread.

I just purchased this Silverstone 120 mm fan. Works great and is real quiet at low RPM. Also has adjustable knob fan controller that is useful if you want to crank it up, but its real noisy at max RPM. And it has pretty blue lights.

Vantec tornado is the highest CFM 80mm fan that I know of. For 120 mm, might want to look at this...

110CFM is a lot.

Thats for the Vantec.

That should keep your system cool, and sounding like a Jet Engine

Woa that Vantec has about double the RPM's than that of your average 80mm fan but you expense the lack of noise...

Seriously, I doubt you need that high of a CFM fan, I'd get a decent fan with some nice LED's that cools well, pretty quietly, and looks nice. That TT fan will work just fine... Vantec's are nice if you think having big mufflers on cars are nice, otherwise, get some less profile ones =)

Delta do some sweet fans up to and including 190cfm @120mm, and 90cfm @80mm.

Of course they are also in the region of 59db, but they are so powerful you can do cool stuff like make hovercrafts with the fan, a binbag, and lots of duct tape :D

I just run everything on a fan controller and I'm not fussed if my PC sounds like a jet engine anyway :)

HERE The top model 12v 80mm fan will do 100CFM at 62db hehe

Yeah I could always buy a fan controller but most fans come with them themselves.
