Hello,

I have been looking at getting a new graphics card and was originally looking at the eVGA 7600GT CO and KO. By the way, what is the difference between CO and KO, and which is better?

Then I found out that the eVGA was having some overheating issues so I began looking at some VGA coolers for about $25.

From there I was thinking if I went to another brand such as XFX or PNY, that the overheating may not happen.

Would you guys suggest getting an eVGA with a 3rd party heatsink (or have you guys had great success with the stock cooler?) or should I get an XFX or PNY 7600gt?

I am assuming that the XFX and PNY don't have as bad of overheating problems from the customer reviews. Which brand is best, eVGA, XFX, or PNY?

What is you guys advice to this dilemma? What would you do? Other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks guys.

EDIT:

Here are the cards I am looking at:

eVGA

7600gt CO:

7600gt KO

XFX
7600gt

7600gt XXX

PNY
7600gt
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814133150

Which of these do you think are best? Best brand? Best cooling? How do you guys feel about Leadtek? I have gotten some recommendations on that brand.

Thanks guys :)

Feel free to make other brand suggestions also.

The KO is overclocked from the factory, so if it's overheating you're hearing about, that's probably the one.

Aren't they both factory overclocked? If you look at the two cards from NewEgg, they each have a 580mhz core clock.

Thanks for the response.

Ok, I have been reading a ton of posts around the net saying that eVGA 7600gt CO and KO have a ton of freezing problems. What is this about? Is there a fix?

Also, is this just eVGA or would it be any better if I bought a XFX, PNY, Leadtek, or BFG? If so, which one? Thanks

ok my brother just purchased an evga 76gt oc
it runs at 46 to 48 c at idle and 58 max

as far as which brand it really doesnt matter to much
you should be happy with any brand.

on the overclock my brother tried to oc a little
he tried from 580mhz to 585, 581 and 590
well it didnt work.

you probably wont be able to oc since they are clocked
so high already

The KO has a bigger cooler than the CO. The CO has the stock reference cooler, and the KO has the same cooler that the 7900 GT. I've checked a few places, and they all say that the CO's cooler whines and isn't very good, but the KO doesn't have anyone saying anything about the cooler. Don't ask me why the CO costs less than the KO at most vendors, I can only speculate it's got to do something with Nvidia wanting a piece from all reference coolers made, just so they can say that it's "certified" or something.

So would you recommend the KO or CO? Thanks

I have a XFX 7600GT XXX edition w/ Zalman VF-900 for sale if you want it. Lemme know because I'm trying to get rid of it for $150 shipped.

Email: Riddlinkidstoner@aol.com or you can IM me when I'm online.

If you need references you can check out my ebay (Zaluss) or hit the Xoxide forums and ask around. I just sold a super nintendo bundle for hella cheap.

I'd recommend the KO over the CO.

Is this becuase it has a bigger cooler? I have been hearing quite a few "freezing" problems with the KO (more so than the CO), how do you feel about this? Thanks for your help. :)
