I'm just rebuilding after a hard reset and ROM upgrade. All my
ActiveSync items are shown as synchronised when my PPC is in its
cradle, including AvantGo.

But where *is* AvantGo? How do I view it? I'm sure I used to get it as
soon as I opened IE, and I could view BBC News etc. But now I just see
a bland promotional page from HP when IE starts. And if I click the
Favourites tool and then click 'AvantGo Channels', that just gives me
an explanation how to activate AvantGo. But all of that has already
been done! The last step says
"4. Synchronize your device to begin viewing AvantGo content"

Full circle! *How* do I 'begin viewing AvantGo content' please?

Also, shouldn't there be a program entry for AvantGo?

A little later I realised that I apparently need to go to the AG site
and reinstall the software. So I did all that and it seemed to work
OK.

But now I'm *thoroughly* confused. When I went back to IE and then
chose Favourites>AG Channels, I got a message saying I now had a
version of AG that was newer than 'this' one, and that I should start
AG from the Program icon. I duly found that (I've never ever had one
before) and ran it. But the version of AG that appears has 4 US
channels preset on it, (and they cannot apparently be deleted) and
there's no trace of my BBC News. Yet, on the PC at the AG page, at My
Channels, the BBC is the *only* channel I'm shown as having.

Can someone put me on the right track here please. It can't really be
this hard...!

euh.... try this:
on your desktop: go to avantgo, delete all channels you had before, then
reselect them. Maybe that will help?

Have you gone into AG on the desktop and entered your username and password?
When you install it creates a generic anonymous user.

The new Avantgo version is not using Pocket Internet Explorer to show the
pages anymore.

After entering your username and making sure everything syncs ok you have to
start Avantgo new browser which is now available on Programs. Tap Start |
Programs on your Pocket PC and tap the Avantgo icon.

Thanks for all four replies.

As Mauricio said, it seems I cannot now get access to AG via IE, but
must always use the Programs icon (which I never used to even have).

Pleased to say that after at least one more sync, I can now get my
channel(s) properly.
