Chipset Fan Question

Hello,
The chipset fan on my ASUS A8N SLI DELUXE motherboard is making this horrible noise so I decided to passively cool it with a heatsink from Zalman. I was wondering what to use the clean the chipset core? Isopropyl alcohol is what I found some people using but that sounds a little harsh to me. Any suggestions?

90% or better rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cloth will be fine.

isopropyl alcohol and a lint free wipe or cloth will do just dandy...another choice would be oil free contact cleaner...
