A PC Anywhere like J720 replacement would be benefecial for me, since
my laptops screen is nearing its end. I would then need to control and
acess the machine when it finally does say goodnight. It could take a
week, a year or whenever it decided to go. Perhaps they make a
PocketPC/HPC client that I am not aware of. My laptop runs Windows 98
SE.

My old J680 had PC Anywhere CE, but since moving to HPC2000 I lost that
ability. It could run the laptop preety fast over a serial port using
grayscale. I dont necessarily need color, just something that works.
Thanks,

John

There is a PCAnywhere client for the PocketPC...Its called PCAnywhere Mobile...I can't speak to how
well it works however...

If your looking for something that is *FREE* then VNC is an alternative...

VNC server software for your desktop PCs...

http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/

PocketPC VNC clients, both FREE...

Doesn't your laptop have a VGA out connector? Throw a monitor on there.

Why didn't I think of that? That would be the most logical and easiest
solution. Thanks for the tip!!

I know if my PDA's screen says goodnight, I have a shortcut to
VirtualCE on the desktop.

Thanks,

John

John,

I suggest trying an online type of solution which grants you access
from any web browser.

The two candidates that come to mind are www.gotomypc.com which has a
monthly fee and www.logmein.com which has a FREE and monthly fee
option. The latter has more features.

Hope that helps!
