If I want to remove DNS which has zone for the local domain AD Intergrated
how do I go about it. Can I just delete the zone? Will this effect the other
DNS servers or the data in AD??

TIA

If your DNS server is the primary DNS server, you need to change the role and
make another server as primary before you can retire it.

NO! Don't delete the AD zone, if you do it deletes it from all DNS servers.
If you don't want the server to be DNS anymore, uninstall DNS, it leaves the
zone in AD.
