Ok guys so I like many others keep posting about the new Duo's. I am looking to use the ====> E6600 <==== and I am looking for some help on finding all the right parts. I am only wanting to spend about $1300 at most, but I feel that this is still possible. I dont know what a good motherboard, video card, ram, or anything would be for this processor. I have a RaptorX 10,000 rpm 74 gig hardrive waiting to be installed in it. If any of you can point me to an already existing link or post something new on this post I would really appreciatte the help. I am more of a hardware guy in the sense I can install just about anything on a PC and never screw it up, however I have fallen out of the loop for things which are "Fastest" and "Best Quality".

At anyrate just post me some ideas and I will go from there THX :)

The raptor is a good start, as is the E6600
Lets see:

Core 2 E6600 $359.99
Thermaltake MiniTyphoon HSF $50.00
MSI 975X Platinum Intel Socket 775 ATX Motherboard $189.99
XFX GeForce 7900 GT 470M Xtreme $234.99
OCZ Dual Channel Gold XTC 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory (2 x 1024MB $179.99
OCZ / PowerStream / 600-Watt $139.99
Ultra Black Aluminus ATX Mid-Tower Case with Clear Side, Front USB, Firewire and Audio Ports $69.99
NEC OEM DVD Burner $41.99
Use on-MB sound until you can afford an X-Fi card.
$50 for shipping
Total $1316.93 (some of these components are after rebate, so watch out... These prices were from Tiger Direct and I know from both Tiger and NewEgg you can't return or exchange things after you apply for a rebate, so make sure everything works before you apply.)

You'll get a lot of debate on these and this is just my take today. I would verify whatever MB you buy is Conroe ready as this is still an issue. The HSF will also bring about lots of debate as the Scythe seems to be the forum favorite, but with the Core2, you really can't go wrong as long as you install it correctly.

My Rig:
Core 2 Duo X6800 Conroe
Intel D975XBXLRK - v304
Thermaltake Big Typhoon HSF
2 GB Corsair Pro PC6400 4-4-4-15
74GB 10K Raptor HD
Soundblaster Audigy 2 SZ
NEC OEM DVD Burners (x2)
Gigabyte 3D Aurora Case
Ultra X-Finity 600W SLi Certified PSU
