I finally am deciding to build my first PC, so I have done a lot of research on practically every component. I would really appreciate any advice/ideas for this build.

PC Use/Purpose: Lots of gaming, school work, internet, some Photoshop. I might experiment with some overclocking, but probably nothing major.
Budget: ~$1500, lower the better )

Case: Coolermaster Wavemaster (Silver) 129.99
-I love this case! I know it has some cooling issues, but see below
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119023

Fans: (4) Panaflo 80mm High Speed Fans 23.96
-These will replace the three case fans, as well as the custom top mount fan option that the Wavemaster has
http://www.hardwarecooling.com/product_...0/prod/492/Panaflo_80mm_high_speed_fan

Powersupply: SeaSonic S12-500 129.99
-Is this a good choice?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817151024

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA965PDS3
Processor: Core 2 Duo E6600
-I am buying the combo deal from ClubIT 479.00
http://clubit.com/product_system_detail.cfm?itemno=UPG30003#
Arg, they are sold out! I hope they restock soon.....

Memory: CORSAIR XMS2 2GB 189.00
-This seems to pair well with the DS3 motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145590

Video Card: BFG 7900GT OC 196.00
-I already bought this, I got it for a great price at Best Buy
Any heat or noise issues I should be worried about?

Sound Card: I already own an Audigy 2

Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (Perp Recording) 250GB 16MB Cache OEM 79.99
-This will run in SATAII, right? Also, I am worried about some heat issues from this HD.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148144

DVDR: NEC Silver DVDR 29.19
-I have to match my silver Wavemaster!
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827152060

DVD-ROM: Still looking for a silver one...

Keyboard: Saitek PZ30AU Black 104 41.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823175103

Mouse: Logitech G5 Laser 45.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826104191

Mousepad: FLEXIGLOW FGMPXRBL X-Raider Pro Mouse Pad 14.99
-Do you think the blue light would be annoying after a while? I heard its a great pad though.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817114131

Thermal Paste: Artic Silver 5 5.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835100007

Subtotal: 1350.00
Estimated Shipping: 70.00
Total: $1420.00

Other thoughts
-Will it be worth investing in new heatsink/fan for my CPU and for my Video Card? I know the Wavemaster is not the largest case, so I am worried about buying giant coolers. However, I do want my PC to run cool and quiet!
-Any possible compatibility issues?
-Any tips for a first time builder?

Thanks a ton to anyone who gives me any advice!

Looks perfect, Seasonic is a great PSU maker. As for finding a Silver CDROM reader, you might as well just spend 10 extra bucks and get 2 of the NECs

I thought about buying two of those NECs. Would there be any disadvantage to having two DVDRWs vs. a DVDRW and a DVD ROM? I don't think so, but I just have to ask :)

Wow, great job picking out parts. The seasonic powersupply is the icing on the cake, its one of the best powersupplys out there and really contributes to system stability. Honestly i would change two things if i were to go order this for myself. First, the hard drive is a really good choice, but if you got 2 of em and put em in a raid 0, that would be sick. Second, i could see the case being a bit loud maybe you could look into cases with 120 mm fans. Other than that, its beautiful.

Unless someone has something negative about the following PSU, why not get it?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Brand=11154&N=2010320058+50011154&Submit=ENE&Manufactory=11154&SubCategory=58

You can read more about it here:

http://www.hipergroup.com/English/products/power.html

I can't say it's good from personal experience but there is not one bad review about this PSU on Newegg. Plus, it's 30 bucks cheaper than the one you plan on getting and it's 580W unlike the SeaSonic which is 500W and has some negative reviews. It doesn't have the P8 connection but you're not getting the Pentium 4 EE anyway so does this matter?

Plus, I just love the molex connectors and how clean it would make the inside of the computer look. "Cleanliness is Next to Godliness"

My next build will include this PSU unless someone convinces me otherwise.

HiPer PSU's are VERY VERY good. They were only available in Europe before. Finally we can get them in North America.

Totally worth the money.

Wow, that HiPer PSU looks great. It is cheaper, and I can get it in silver to match everything else. Maybe the Seasonic will get the bump...

And yes to answer your question you would be 100% fine getting two DVD writers - they will read DVD's just as well as a 'non-writing' drive.
