I have the following problem on a Windows 2003 DNS server:

My domain is a child domain, as far as DNS everything
appears to be resolving correctly, clients can
resolve,Exchange is working. The only problem is the
above. How can I resolve this?

Running Netdiag I get the following error:

DNS test . . . . . . . . . . . . . : Failed
[WARNING] The DNS entries for this DC cannot be
verified right now on DNS
server 192.168.5.6, ERROR_TIMEOUT.

I ran this:

Child DCs do not register global catalog records in the child domain, all
Global Catalog records are registered in the forest root domain.
try this for an "A" record first:
gc._msdcs.<forestroot>

How is this DNS server resolving _msdcs.parent.org?
It must be able to resolve names under this name that is where the forest
records are such as the Global Catalog.

That is a good question, I don't know if it is. It has been problematic
getting correct info on this server. I know there are several DCs some with
DNS some without.
I see the OS on this DC is Win2k3, it is apparently a child domain, I don't
know where the parent DNS is or what server it is on. But this DC must find
the parent zone somehow, or if it is not that may be its biggest problem.
Maybe the _msdcs.parent.org is in the parent.org zone or it may be a zone of
its own name _msdcs.parent.org.

Being Win2k3 you can configure the parent domain as a conditional forwarder
on the Forwarders tab, or you can create a Stub zone for the parent domain
name.

Please post accurate information such as IP addresses of DCs or whether any
are multi-homed or running RAS. These conditions can cause Active Directory
communication to fail because all IPs may not have the correct services
bound or file sharing enabled. Multihomed DCs required additional
configuration of added registry entries to prevent incorrect IP addresses
that do not have the correct services bound from being registered in DNS.
