I am in a child domain, 2003 servers. From my XP Pro
workstation I cannot FTP outside my domain in the
internet. I can FTP using the browser as this is going
through the ISA server in the parent domain, but in the
child I cannot ping any sites outside my domain or use the
command prompt to ftp outside the domain. What could be
wrong? Thanks

This is likely an ISA/client issue. It would seem
likely that you are using the Web Proxy ISA client/
authentication method

Since you can FTP through the browser which supports
Proxies and cannot FTP through the command line which
doesn't.

ISA blocks Pings by default I believe but it certainly can
block them if you allow it to do so.

If you can FTP by name in the browser this almost
certainly eliminates DNS and moves the problem to
(most likely) ISA.
