Dell inspiron 6000 video card issues with win 7

Hello,
I just got off a chat with Dell support and they won't support the issue of there is not a driver for vista or win 7. I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 and cant get the sound or mic to work. Dell just told me that there was no vista driver but some people have posted on the net that there is one available. I understand that there is not a win 7 driver. I tried to install the xp driver, and on the install it created a new directory folder for the driver. Any ideas out there?

If you can identify what audio chip is used then you can search for either a generic Vista/Win7 driver or one from a newer laptop model.

Download audio driver and do right click/properties/compatibility tab,select XP SP3 click apply and run it!
