Hes right, Rivatuner doesnt flash anything, It just makes the nVidia drivers report the card as something else.

This will NOT change the performance (except unlock Quadro driver level features), as the clock speed will still be set in the BIOS.

You can either use nBiTor and nvFlash to edit your current BIOS to a higher clock speed, or just use coolbits/rivatuner to increase the clockspeed.

The only difference between the 6600 and 6600GT are:

GPU clock, 6600=300 stock, 6600GT=500 stock. This is easy to increase on the 6600 to 6600GT levels, however...

RAM type, 6600 uses DDR1 or DDR2, with a very low clock, 6600GT uses DDR3 with a 500mhz/1000DDR clock. THERE IS NO WAY THE RAM ON THE 6600 WILL EVER PERFORM THIS WELL. Just as you wont turn the GPU into a 7900.

Even if you hit 500 on the GPU, the thing will just be completely memory limited.

Take my 7900GT, a 34% increase in GPU speed has given me an 18% increase in performance, as my RAM is holding me back.
