Before I overclock e6600

What should I know/prepare?
First, my Scythe MineCooler gives me idle 34-40C so I should get a better HSF right? I have Asus P5B deluxe and I heard that it is good for overclocking?
I have never done overclocking before so I gotta be prudential.
Any info will be appreciated.
