My sound system:

Creative Gigaworks 750S 7.1 500watts RMS, (subwoofer 220 watts rms)

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum 7.1

I just realised creative is on its X-Fi Platinum/Fatal1ty version..

Considering that I am using the system ONLY for movies and to play 5.1 games with my xbox360 thru a OPTCAL cable.. what sound card should I buy? The Fatal1ty (has 64 x-ram), Platinum (no ram) or None?

I want to buy one because when I play a game and too much happens in there (too many gun fire or explosions) the sound makes some weird noises as if they collapsed on eachother.. I think it may be because its an old sound card that offers little support over optical cables.. no idea what its causing it.. (movies are perfect since they run on the pc and dont need the optical cable).

Any better sound system recomended for a movie enthusiastic?

Thats all, thanks :)

I would be leaning towards a software/hardware problem rather than the capabilities of the card, because that has never happened to my Audigy (the first one) under similar conditions. For the money though, I would just go and buy another Audigy 2! Just my opinion.

If it's for a small room and desk, PC speakers work just fine and the Gigaworks is as good as they come for the package and price.

For a larger room and for a larger seating area (more listeners, the sound has to be consistent in a wide area as well as being loud) then you need some normal speakers.

I think its a hardware problem then since the sound card is refurbished :P

Thanks for the help!
