I really am a noob and wolud like to know what is the difference between the DDR and DDR2 rams operating in dual channel and single channel , does this cause a low bandwidth or reduced latency .Thank you

Dual channel offers increased bandwidth, DDR2 runs at higher latencies than 'standard' DDR but runs at higher frequencies.

DDR1/DDR2 let you have 2 times the bandwith if you use two sticks that are rated the same speed/timeings.
