Hello

We just opened second office and I need to set up a DNS server for that
office. The DNS server should interoperate with our existing DNS server.

Any guidelines or links to manuals or whitepapers are appreciated.

Thanks
-Will

Is this Active Directory and is there a DC at each location?

It will strip signature out and more

Yes to both questions.

We have W2K servers in both locations (separate sites) acting as a DC.
Promlem is that if the connection between offices is broken the new office
hasn't got any name service.

If the zone is Active Directory integrated, all you need to do is install
DNS on the remote DC. The zone will replicate to it without any further
action from you, usually within fifteen minutes. After the zone replicates,
you can start using it for DNS.
