I just buy a gigabyte ds3 and had to replace all other pc components, except dvdrw :)?I had the problem with the ram - it did not start with the cheapest ddr2ram i could find - syncron 533 but after I rma it and buy a syncron ddr2 800 it worked just fine with a borowed pentium d940.?The cpu has temps at full load of up to 78 celsius.?I think it is caused by lack of thermal compoud, am I right?

Hi, I'm from Bulgaria. Lol. I'm having the same problem. My board will not POST because of my memory's voltage requirements and I will go get some other RAM so I can fx that in the BIOS. Then I'll put in my RAM and return the other one. :p

Yes you should use some sort of thermal compound or pad even if its the cheap crap. I am not sure what the normal temps for d940, but applying some sort of thermal medium, should help reduce those temps. Have you updated your bios lately? => http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/BIOS_Model.aspx?ClassValue=Motherboard&ProductID=2314&ProductName=GA-965P-DS3

That's running awfully hot, go spend a few dollars and get some good thermal compound, especially if you're using the stock Intel HSF.

When I opened up my new processor I promptly removed the thermal gunk off the boxed heatsink- accidentally! Might be the same problem here, a fingertip can wipe the stuff off very easily.

My CD2 e6300 is runing without problems at 3.0 Ghz with 1.3 volts, between 35 and 55 celsius. (fsb is 429 and ram is "syncron" ddr2 800 @ 856 single channel :), for now).
