And speaking of games, you can switch the Performance Pro Modem into gaming mode any time you’re ready for some online competition. Enhanced performance settings give you quicker response times. And when it’s time to go back to the real world, just turn the gaming mode off — the modem automatically returns to its normal configuration.

Hmm, I've been looking into that modem, and is it really worth $100? I have a regular Supra v.90 modem right now, and I'm dialing up at 28.8k. My ping in Counter-Strike is around 200 somtin. I think I've cut down on my lag spikes. But even so, with this other modem, it could reduce the ping even more and help in gaming... maybe someone can give some first hand experience Thanks
One problem with USrobotics. Under certain line conditions the modem will be limited to 33.6k and nothing will allow it to perform at anything above this limit.
This is from experience. I live in a rural area and tried everything to increase throughput and ping times. Finally I returned the USR modem. After speaking with tech support and deciding that 33.6 was the best the modem would do.
So far the best modem I've owned has been the Creative Modem Blaster. $20 US at WallMart.
