ok so im sure this is posted but im looking into getting a e6600 and want to know which mobo i should go with.

MSI 975X Platinum Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Which the board is good, but has 2 pci 16x slots and i will only be running 1 card so not sure if there is anything else that i would use special on the mobo

ASUS P5B Socket T (LGA 775) Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
only 1 but its a 965 chipset is there a big difference?

ASUS P5NSLI Socket T (LGA 775) NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI Intel Edition ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
this one only supports ddr2 667

and im open for any other boards that are good and around 150-200, i am kind of a fan of asus, and just dont really need wifi at the moment...

Not really.

In VB.net it's:

If Answer is "text" Then

End if

---------------------

In Java, it is:

If (Answer == "text") then {

}

I think you will find that my syntax works just as well. It certainly works in VB6.

The quotation marks are definitely required though.

So you were still wrong originally. :)

if you are going to use only one pci-e card, i would suggest get asus p5b (not deluxe) and save a buck or two for good ram(corsair xms2 ddr2 800 6400) 8)

Abit just annouced their flagship 975x boards, the AW9D and AW9D-MAX. THey are supreme boards, serious overclocking abilities and are quad-core ready.

thanks for the help so far guys,

ASUS P5NSLI Socket T (LGA 775) NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI Intel Edition ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

this boards only 120 with 1 16x pciE which is perfect, i just hear its not that great for overclocking but ill have a good chip and wont need to oc for a yr or so i would think, and then ill upgrade to a better board, im just wonderin is this board pretty decent?

also it only supports 667 ddr2 ram, can i still order 800 and it will just underclock or will i run into problems? thanks again

The Asus P5NSLI is an excellent board for gamers on budget!!

It actually has 2 PCIe slots and it supports SLI.

I've read the board doesn't have the OCing abilities the P5B Deluxe has, but it's still alright.

It's well build and nicely packed with cables for it's price.

About the RAM, what you read probably means that's the motherboards 'native' RAM speed, which means its supposed to run best with that kind of ram. It by no means means you can't use DDR2 800 on it, or even lower clocked RAM than the standard. So don't worry about underclocking :D

Anandtech just released a review on the P5NSLI. I suggest you read it. Link

The question you should ask yourself when looking for a C2D motherboard is:

"Do I need SLI / Crossfire"

If Answer is SLI Then

nForce 570
nForce 590

Else If Answer is Crossfire Then

MSI 975X
ASUS 975X

Else If Answer is None Then

Asus P965

End If

Your statements are incorrect. Correct syntax would be:

If Answer = "SLI" Then...

I think you two need to get a life and speak in English when people write posts in English.

ya thats the one i read which they said it was a great board for the price just not much on the ocing side, which like i said should be fine for a yr or so and then ill move up. so you guys think this woul dbe a good choice with some corsair xms ddr2?

DDR2 'stock' voltage is 1.8V actually. Anything higher than that means the module has being OCed in order to get a higher clock or tighter timings.

Your XMS 2.1V ram should be fine since the motherboard does suppoert 2.1V RAM.

again thx for the help really appreciate it

i am looking at some xms that is 1.9 i think 5 timings, is this pretty good seems higher then what ive had in the past

I just check the specs on the Asus P5N-SLI nForce 570 SLI Intel Edition
and it calls for Dual-channel DDR2 667/533.

CAS5 is probably lower than what you've had in the past. Its the nature of DD2. Good DDR RAM is running CAS2.5 or even lower latency.

Are you looking at DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) CAS5?
Corsair XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) $194 after $40 rebate.

A good alternative would be DDR2 667 CAS4
OCZ Gold 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 667 (PC2 5400) $139 after $40 rebate.

yes ive never had ddr2 before so im assuming im just not use to the higher timings. i am looking at that cosair, im a a fan and have heard issues with the ocz ram, so i think ill stick to that corsair is it a good choice ?

The PC6400 DDR2 800 will run in the P5NSLI but it will be running at DD2 667. You've mentioned before you dont plan on overclocking right away.

And you did mention an early motherboard upgrade a year from now? What are you looking at for that upgrade? It seems like the 6600/P5NSLI would be a good system well beyond a single year.

There is the CAS4 CORSAIR XMS2 2GB DDR2 675 PC2 5400 $162 after $30 mail in rebate.

When you do go to start overclocking the E6600/P5NSLI the DDR2 675 should scale nicely to DDR2 800 without a problem.
