Hi Dudes

Quick question...
What's better?

1. Antec SmartPower 2.0 500WQPC
2. PowerMax 600W Power Supply
3. Atrix Extreme Power 600W Power Supply
4. GTR 550w Black Power supply
5. Super Power 550W Power Supply
6. Silverstone ST50EF 500 Watt Power Supply ATX
7. Thermaltake 550 Watt Power Supply ATX
8. Top Power Topower 600Watt EPS Real Power PSU Power Supply ATX

The prices range from 85-100USD

I would like to get the 600W as this will be my system:

Asus P5W DH Deluxe
Core 2 E6600
Radeon X1900 XTX 512MB PCI Express
5 Harddisks
2gb ram

It should be a quite powersupply if possible

Thanks in advance

I life in australia so I'm stuck with the power supplies on this page:
http://au.pricespy.biz/gid_5.html?o=300

I don't really want to spend more than 120-130 Australian dollar.
Would be great if someone can have a look at it and let me know if there is something usefull there.

Pages 2 and 3 on that page are the once im looking at.

Here are some reviews of many highend PSUs in the wattage range that you inquired about. They should give you some insight into their performances.

I like the Silverstone model the best

Silverstone ST50EF 500 Watt Power Supply ATX
good strong amps and has Active PFC, which protects against things like voltage fluctuations and electrical irregularities that can affect the efficiency of your power supply. There are three types of PFC: active, passive, and non-PFC. Active PFC provides the best protection, while non-PFC provides the worst. With a more efficient PSU there is less waste and, therefore, less heat produced by the PSU. This, in turn, means a reduction in it's contribution to overall system heat.

What are the two price columns on that site for?

Choose between the Antec or the Theremaltake, those appear to be the best power supplies on the list, I would go with the Thermaltake.

The Antec or Silverstone, my preference is the silverstone.

Just so you know, Falcon Northwest, one of the best custom gaming machine makers, uses Silverstone PSU's in their systems.
