It seems NVIDIA's new G73-B1 graphics core will be released in September.

Hopefully it will support dx10.

Agreed.

Pretty much GF7x = DX9.0C , GF8x = DX10 for some kind (hybrid being the unknown).

Low end Geforce 7 part, but still a good sign. Nvidia will be going to 80nm soon, and this could help the G80 keep up with the R600 if it makes it to the shrink.
