Hi Guyz

Got my whole system figured except the RAM
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz LGA775
- Asustek P5W DH Deluxe
- 2 * Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250620AS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache in RAID 0
- GeForce 7600 GT 256MB PCI-Express (cheap graphics card for now cuz i want to wait for DX10 and this one is good enough for now)
- BENQ FP202W 8ms DVI 20" FP202W Wide Screen

Now as you see an important part is missing!

I have no idea what RAM i should buy. I know that I want 2* 1GB.
Currently I'm looking at G.SKILL 2GB(1GB x 2) PC2-6400 (DDR2-800) 4-4-4-12 Dual or Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 2GB (2x XMS2 1GB) Twin2X PC-6400 DDR2 RAM, 2x240-pin DIMMs, Non ECC Unbuffered, 5-5-5-12

but the Gskill is abous 45USD cheaper! Is it worth spending the extra money on a corsair?

I life in australia so I don't have that much choice.
Those are the options I have http://au.pricespy.biz/gid_187.html

If someone could check this page and let me know whats good.

Thanks in advance

IMHO the most important thing is to get a guarantee from your vendor (not the manufacturer) that if the RAM doesn't work w/your MB/CPU, you can return the RAM and only pay shipping. Stay away from "Value Select" and other "value" lines.
Other specs to look for are what voltage the given timings are rated at (the closer to standard 1.8V, the better; Corsair is usually 1.9V, which is very good).

I'd definitely go the G.Skill, the tighter timings will give you slightly better performance. Also, if you're getting the mobo and motherboard from the same store (online or bricks & mortar) under our laws (I'm an Aussie too) then if the RAM and motherboard aren't compatable the (r)etailer has to replace it and or give you a refund, as well as cover all shipping charges.

Oh, don't forget to check out http://staticice.com.au for pricing, there's a lot of stores there :)

Hey ped,
Take a look at the Corsair line of ram. I have the 2 gig TwinX 3500LL pro and the latency is 2 3 2 6 @ 1T timing. It's a great OCer, and I know there is also a new line out for the AM2 and conroe launches.

Don't know how they are performing with those lines but I DO know that with my 939 ASUS and my other hardware, it runs like a Ferrari
