I have a single domain with 3 DC's. I have just promoted the a 4th and
realised i had forgoten to install DNS on the new server before running
dcpromo.
I would like DNS running on all 4 servers and am wondering if the only way
to install it on the 4th is to demote the server then install DNS then
promote it again?

Cheers!
Alex

Just install DNS on the 4th server and configure it to host your AD zone.

So it is ok to install DNS on a DC after it has been promoted?

Not a problem at all.

Only thing to look out for is that the SOA records are added on the other
servers for the new one and that the MSDCS is populated with the relevant
SRV's... This ought to happen automatically, but I have seen it not
happen...
