Ok here goes...I have a HP(i know I know..next one IM building)Anyways heres my question...I have a 3700+ athlon a gig a ram LCD audigy 2zs a dvd r/w 250 gig sata and I WANT either a 7900 series OR a 1900 (OK Im no fanboy,HP remember?)I bought a 420 watt enermax with 18 amps on 12 volt rails,29 max.At the time I was going to buy an 1800 ati or a 7800 nv.Ive read sooo much about the difference from 1800 to 1900,7800 to 7900 that ok,I WANT THE NEWER BETTER MORE POWER...which leads to me dilema,can it handle these cards?The NEWER MORE power eating types?Any reaction to my post will be appreciated...whether it be flaming funny fowl or hopefully informative... thanx

Funny thing is that the 7900gt and the 7800gt use only 1w difference. The X1900XT uses 6w more than the x1800xt but realize that the ati cards use about 40w more than the respective nvidia cards.

I personally think you are fine with the 420w but it's up to you.

you can go to http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp and run the numbers yourself if you want.

I belive you're ok, enermax is a good PSU company. I wouldn't try to overclock anything though.

Don't worry about overclocking; HP makes sure that you can't OC.
