Life after death, a choice or truth?
Personally, I have always beleived of life after death. Only recently have I changed my view considerably about it since I started to stray from my Catholic beliefs into a more general and more logical and debatable POV. Ever since I saw Crossing Over (please don't laugh!), I have been able to relate so well and which is why I like the show, because John's analogy and the way he "claims" to speak with the dead, is so similar to mine, I finally beleive there is hope later on. My analogy was that you could never die. Your soul, inside you, lives on. Why? My sensitivity greatly dedicates to this feeling, where you simply cannot stop feeling yourself. Can you imagine not feeling yourself, inside? It isn't, which is why I am sure our spirits or souls DO live on. Whether life is different afterwards, or how it looks like on the other side, is something we can never explain until we die. However if John sees it right, the spirits are still around us and look over us, so they do have access to roam our world. Again I ask you treat this opinion AND subject with respect. Those who have nothing to say but that there is no hope, I'd rather you not post here.
Anyways, opinions anyone?
PS: I do not want to open a religious topic, or anything that offends anyone, this is strictly a personal opinion poll, but nothing that opens and affects anybody. Feel free to discuss your views or even debate!

no life after dasth. if there is it can't be any good or somebody would have came back bragging about it !!!
Although it has a lot of good ideas, beer doesn't know anything about computers!!!
It's so good they don't want to come back to this sad world and they don't want anybody to join them.
That was what was told in my dream!
- What do you want to feel today?
Choice #2...I get excited just thinking of home.

Life after death is an oxymoron imop. Reincarnation would be interesting though.

I don´t think there is something after death.
When you´re dead...you´re dead.
The fact that we think and are aware of ourselves
is just a jest of nature.
At a certain level of evolution, our brain construction
made it possible for it to host something we call
a soul, our "being".
When we die, our brain doesn´t get energy anymore
and therefore the "soul" it contained will cease to exist.
Well, I have to admit it´s kind of hard to grasp the fact that
you will not be anymore when you die.
Maybe it´s like when you dream?
You are still alive but you don´t have an understanding of
time or place...

Hehe, I have the same opinion.
Sig of the week.
Wow geez there are lot of pessimistic opinions there! (no offense though)
Well I'd hate to bring this up again, but without resorting to insulting this person's integrity, could you explain what is John Edward doing on his show then? What is he perceiving? Again my reason for this is found on my main post here explaining why I believe in his readings.

John Edwards is doing the exact same thing as Miss Cleo, making generic guesses by reading people's responses to what he says. It seems eerily accurate because the cut out the ones that are fake. Guaranteed if you went to a taping and then watched the show after, it would be completely different. The taping is probably about 5 hours for a 40 minute show (minus commercial breaks), they just grab the best material.
If you don't buy Windows, then the terrorists have already won! - Microsoft
I am aware they would cut out parts. But most people who validate them after the show seem to really find it true. They had put out a documentary on Discovery Channel (while zapping around), they were looking into John's claims and "probing" his work. They would put him in different rooms, turned away, over the phone, in a room with many people in, and brought in some psycho experts to see how he does. They were quite surprised although skepticism is always there. Even I am skeptic, but I somewhat feel if we went to see him, we would be surprised. He does personal readings with families although now the waiting list is so big it can take up to 3 years to see him for a 15 minute read. He also does seminars, as well as many others, and his galery readings. No, this isn't Miss Cleo, at all. The woman would charge 5$ per minute after 3 "free" minutes of hold, and she would use cards. John OTOH is using many methods to read, and continues to astoundish people. Maybe one day he'll give a really powerful revealing such as this:
A family who's member was killed by a murderer UNKNOWN but to that victim. John then relays to the dead victim and it tells him who killed him, then they call the cops. They look and find him, he confesses. Would be pretty surprising huh?
Additionally, the show is taped the first of every month or something like that. This means they probably tape many episodes in one reading seance at the galery, so that it never ends so fast with reruns.

IMHO, a choice is missing: I DONT KNOW.

I agree whit you on that one labdog, and I would add this too :
I DONT CARE...IMHO
The faster a computer is, the faster it will reach a crashed state
I don't like to think about it.
Spirtually I believe there is something after death. Heaven, Hell...Sometimes I think existing on earth is Hell.
Logically it can't be proven. Anyway I hope there is something.
The buildings I work in a few people died during their construction. Sometimes I think they are watching us. There are three different spirits. One feels friendly and just wants some company. The other likes to watch you but feels insecure. The last one feels angry and wants to hurt you.
I can't logically explain it. There are 22 employees in my department and they have all experienced similar events.

Anything can be possible. I bet if you went and called John to go visit you, he's surely get one of them spirits in!
But I do like your view on it, it's true we sometimes do feel someone around us.

What? No, that's probably in instances when ur high or something. I have never felt anything around me!
Sig of the week.
So like today at school I was discussing with a girl who kept saying John is a fake. I told her to prove it, she said the people on the show are being paid. Seriously, who with a sane mind, would accept speaking BS on their dead relatives? Even with money, I would never speak fake stuff about my relatives, ever.
So still until now, no proof of why is he fake.

There will always be scepticism. But I did see the guy on Larry King answer calls and he got two people right on the money and one was totally off. The one that was totally off had a bit of an attitude from the instant she called. I dont watch that show all that much but I honestly have seen something once. I dont know what it was, if it could be chalked up to science, mass hypnosis or a simple prank but the 4 other guards with me on duty were equally as freaked out as I was. What happened was that we were on duty and heard crying and someone asking for help from behind this abandoned barracks. Well 3 of us came running to the area only to find nothing at all. I thought someone was F'ing with us so one of the guards and I went to look in and around the building, nothing found. We had called it in so in the meantime our duty NCO (The boss) arrived on the scene. After making us do a couple of perimeter checks (finding nothing) we finally ended up at Jensen's post(the fourth guard). The guy was standing in one spot eyes wide open and muttering incoherently. All he could say was "I saw it". After spending a half hour calming the dude down we finally went on in. Well turns out that in that very same abandoned building 10 years prior on that exact same day a lady was held prisoner for 3 days, raped and murdered.
Every time I start to think I'm going to end up as nothing as fertilizer when I die I remind myself of what I saw. So I honestly cant say what happened but I know what I heard and Jensen to this day swears he saw a "ghost" but he cant describe it for the life of him.
Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.
I will give you a 10 million dollar contract for 2 years, as well as incentives such as new car, etc. U must do what that guy John does. Do u take it? Tempting isn't it? See. (btw, I'm not actually offering it
Sig of the week.
Hehehh, if I understood you right I can only say this: John is one heck of a speaker!
No seriously, if he really was coming up with all the stuff, you can just imagine how fast he must think! The guy speaks so fast sometimes, and he really does nice jokes at oddes times!

Wow, must be freaky. It's night here, so when I read your tale, it felt freaky!
Well yea, I never said I totally am a beleiver. Each day I get new questions to myself that contradict my belief of a life after death. Things like when John is answering over the phone and gets stuff right is a bit twisted to a point I almost lose belief, I wonder if the spirits really do go see him or what! That is what raises questions and makes me lose a little faith. But then I watch the gallery readings, and I feel much better.
One thing I most was surprised was this:
If any of you knew the sitcom Suddenly Susan, you'll know that David Strickland, the guy who played Todd in SS, suicided himself hanging in a Las Vegas room. After that episode, the whole show changed, added new people and made others leave. From the new ones came a guy, who came to Crossing Over with his girlfriend from another show too (I think Beverly Hills 90210, but not sure).
Odd as it can be, John got David through, even though the guy who came for the reading never knew David since he came on the show after he died! So David had a message to them to Brooke Shields who is David's good friend until he passed.
That was a weird but awesome read. Yesterday it was a special Q&A show, all questions to him, like what he feels, why he does certain moves and such.

I like the dad theory, let me explain why :
Sometimes his post are well tought ,intelligent posts, some other times there just idioties.
So my theory is
good = dad
idiot = son
Makes sens ?
My frog asked me for a cigeratte...dunno what happened he's all over the place
Yup, but why doesn't the dad do something against it... he should know that his son is posting with his name.
P75 @ 90 Mhz... because I need the speed.
Well for one ,I dont mind my son posting under my name.
Then again my son doesn't insult poeple under my name.
Ok I'll think of another theory...
My frog asked me for a cigeratte...dunno what happened he's all over the place
My theory holds the most water: he's mentally disabled. Labdog denies it though and then goes on for a few days making sense.
Your best bet is to challange his mental ability and he'll behave for a while.

Without a doubt I believe in LIFE after death, I believe your soul lives on and is Eternal, I do not believe that when you physically die, that you can come back here for a visit, I believe that there are so many grief stricken, lonely and hurting individuals, that have lost loved ones, that they will allow themselves to be taken in by those that prey on their grief for profit, like vultures over a rotting corpse, I also believe there are gullible individuals, that watch from the sidelines, and marvel at this mans magic act and think he is for real, that are slowly brainwashing themselves into this false reality, hoping for some kind of common ground that they can justify their own lives. Television is a realm of imagination and advertisement actors are called actors because thats what they do, they act out stories and skits for your entertainment, its a shame that we can become so involved in the fantasy world, that when true reality happens like 9-11, that we think we're watching a horrible movie. Hopefully you may gleen a little truth from this post, that 9-11 was real, day and nightime soaps are made up and acted out stories, wrestling is fake, the Taco Bell dog cannot actually talk, David Copperfield did not actually make the Statue of Liberty disappear, nobody actually shot JR Ewing, but they did shoot President Kennedy, The little boy was not Home Alone, Gilligan was not stranded on an island, they were movie sets, some of the most horrible movies our imaginations have produced, pale in comparison to the realities we inflict on each other. Think about this, if this guy really was for real, he would be one of the most powerful individuals on the face of the planet, because of all the billions that have died before, his mind would have to control the output of a billion thought transfers, what if they all decided to talk at once, he probably would self destruct on national television, now that would really give David Letterman something to talk about. I guess his brain would be like some kind of super server computer, I just hope he's not running Windows95A. I hope I've shed a little light on your delusional concepts, while you're busying yourself trying to figure out the workings of the world and what the heck you're doing here, just remember this you only have one life to live so don't waste it on fantasies, seek out the truth, if you really look for it you'll find it.
i believe death after life.
[insert philosophical statement here]
buddy, you're full of it. the taco bell dog does talk, i saw it on TV!!!

Yes, I believe there is life after death. All around us there is new life constantly appearing, human beings, animals, plants, etc. The life force in deceased bodies must be recycling, otherwise life would be extinct by now. The life force is surely different from the body, if the body were like a machine, why is it that an otherwise healthy person who bled to death cannot be revived by simply giving him a transfusion before the body suffers any decay? My guess would be that the life force has exited the body and therefore there is no one in the body to revive. I believe the departed life force takes birth in another body.
Usually this is what I would partially agree on. I just don't like the idea of taking the body of something else and losing all you have experienced previously. That is why I think we just become spirits in another world and look upon our relatives here on earth. Maybe we can take other bodies later on, but I just don't like the thought of losing all we knew, memories...
