will a power management from windows desktop to turn the monitor off if computer idles for 5 minutes make the crt monitor out of age sooner?

i mean when it has been already been turn off because of the power management thing, then it is turned on again for my activity, and then after 5 minutes of idling it's turned off again by windows, and then so on. if this situation happens frequent, will it make the crt monitor out of age sooner?

i also want to know the same situation on lcd monitor.

any advise will be much appreciate, thanks! :)

it probably wont make a difference
most monitors <crt or lcd> are pretty tough
but it may not save much energy doing it that way
you could lower the time for screensaver
