Is this a good weapon?

In the CoC or the SMC, I don't remember, I found a boomerang of
slaying(+2, 2d4+1) Is this a good weapon? This is the only missile that
I have found so far.

The basic damage is ok, but the suffix "of slaying" means that it is
effective against *any* monster. The problem is, weapons with suffixes
are fairly rare, and you are unlikely to find another. If you are taking
on a monster with a breath attack, you can say bye-bye to your new
boomerang if you fail to catch it...which happens often. Train it up on
weak opponents, save it for really tough ones.

Which happens very rarely if your Dx is above 20 - 25. Use
moss of marreilon to raise your dexterity to 25.

A boomerang of slaying is a very powerful weapon. I remember taking
out Kherab in Darkforge with several hits from one boomerang of
slaying, and I had no boomerang weapon marks. This is a very rare
find. Use it wisely until it eventually breaks.

Boomerangs in general are a relatively rare. I've been playing for 4
years and never have even *found* a boomerang with pre/suffixes!
