Urgent: Desperately Need Help with Missing Files After Syn..

I have been away from the office for a few days. There were a number of new
files generated while working off-line. This morning when I returned to the
office, file synchronization was started as usual. To my atonishment, the
files I created offline last week were all gone.

I have run a file search on my local hard drive and on the file server.
None of them showed up. Can anyone offer me some direction? I am using
Windows XP SP1 on my laptop. Server is running Windows 2000 SP4.
